Education Benefits and Financial Aid

You may be eligible to use your military service members’ benefits or veterans’ education benefits to help pay for your education. If you have specific questions about your eligibility or are trying to decide between benefits, please contact the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to discuss your specific situation. If you have questions about how your benefits will work at the University of Maryland, please contact our military and veterans admissions advisors.

The following veterans education benefits may be available to you while you are active duty.

  • Montgomery GI Bill® - Active Duty (Chapter 30) benefits are paid directly to you in monthly benefits based on your training time. If you are using Chapter 30 Montgomery GI Bill® benefits, you are responsible for paying your tuition and fees directly to the university and are required to complete a monthly verification of enrollment.
  • Chapter 33 Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits are paid based on your percent of eligibility and the rate at which you pursue your degree. Tuition and fee payments are disbursed directly to the university.
  • Chapter 1607: Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP) benefits are paid directly to you as monthly benefits based on your training time. You are responsible for paying your tuition and fees directly to the university and are required to complete a monthly verification of enrollment.

If you'd like to use veterans education benefits before you separate, you'll need to complete the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Education Benefits Application, which allows you to determine your level of education benefits.

Overseas Admission and Participation

The Master of Professional Studies in Technology Entrepreneurship is exclusively designed as a 100% online program without any face-to-face or residency requirements. Students benefit from the global accessibility and time flexibility of fully online learning without the requirement of meeting in a certain place, or at a certain time, at any point in the Program. While there is a set syllabus and learning agenda for each week, the recorded lectures may be viewed by students at any time of their choosing each week.

For accepted students that are near our campus in College Park, Maryland, our Veterans Center is located in 1112 Cole Field House. This space is exclusively available for student veterans. Come spend time with each other while on campus, get a free cup of coffee, watch TV, use the computers, or study.
